This post is about preparing to meet with us about our facilitation services. To learn about exploration meetings for our learning design services, read this post.

We offer two types of facilitation services:

  • Meeting facilitation: To help your group have conversations, build relationships, and make decisions
  • Workshop/course facilitation: To help your group gain skills related to design and facilitation

If you’d like to talk with us about facilitating an event for your organization or team, the first step is to have a conversation with us. We call this our exploration meeting.

Why the exploration meeting matters

This meeting is where we start shaping the purpose and design of your session or series. It’s a chance to talk through what you hope to achieve, who will be in the room, and what success would look like.

You might arrive to this meeting with a clear vision, or you might be still working out some of the details. In both cases, we offer you guidance, questions, and ideas to help define the right path forward.

What we’ll discuss

Here are a few things to consider before we meet. You don’t need to have everything figured out. We’ll use these questions as a starting point for our conversation.

  • Session purpose: What is the reason for the session? What goals and outcomes are you hoping to achieve? Is it meeting facilitation or workshop facilitation that you’re hoping we’ll provide?
  • Participants: Who will be attending? How many?
  • Format: Will the event be held in person, online, or in a blended format?
  • Scope: Is this a one-time session or part of a series? How much time is set aside?
  • Budget: What are you planning to invest in this experience for your group?

Aligning values and vision

Something we’ll be looking to confirm during the exploration meeting is whether we have a values alignment with you and your organization. Our work is grounded in inclusion, curiosity, and excellence. These values guide how we design and lead every session. We also want to understand what matters to your team and how those priorities can be reflected in the session experience.

After the meeting

By the end of the exploration meeting, we’ll both have a clearer sense of whether we’re a fit. Most of the time, this conversation gives us what we need to prepare a proposal and quote. If you’re still thinking about your options, that’s fine too. The meeting will help clarify your direction.

We suggest reaching out at least ten to twelve weeks before your intended session date to ensure we’re available. This also allows us go through the proposal and contracting process and thoughtfully plan the event(s). If you’re ready to start the conversation, please get in touch. We look forward to learning more about your goals and how we might support them through facilitation.
