I often have people comment on the way I look when I talk about my work. “Wow,” they say, “I can tell you really love your job!”
And I do! And I know how they can tell.
When I talk about the work I do my eyes light up, my hands and arms swoop and dive through the air and my voice quickens and jumps with pleasure. I have flashing eyes, a smile on my face, and passion in my voice when I talk about what I do.
Do you?
Are you where you need to be? Are you where you want to be? Are you doing work that makes your eyes shine, your laugh come forward and your body throw itself into full, gleeful motion? I hope so.
Don’t get me wrong, I know that work is not all “picture-perfect” all the time. Even doing work I love there are still elements of my day or week that I don’t exactly look forward to. But on the whole I’m glad I am where I am, doing what I do.
I’ve always subscribed to, “do what you love and love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life.” I heard this many years ago at a retirement party and it stuck with me since it’s so true. Life’s way too short and precious to spend time doing something you don’t love.
All the very best with your new adventure Beth.

I love that quote, and thank you for reminding me of it. Nice to see you here commenting! Thanks.
My eyes do light up when I talk about my work. Both the one I do to pay the bills and the one I do for the sheer fun of it. So we should talk about the differences in confidence levels I feel between one job and the other. Hope to hear from you soon.
And I can’t wait to catch up on your previous blogs as well.
Fondly,
~Kanchan
Ah, that’s interesting Kanchan, tell me more. Which one are you more confident about? I’m curious. Thanks for visiting.
I must admit. I love my two jobs! LOVE them. I love what I do. I can honestly say that. I have made a lifetime chasing my love job over money. I am thrilled to say that after all these years I have finally found a part time job that I love as much as my primary career. Daily, I feel SO blessed.
Your passion rings out loud and clear! I like that you call it “chasing your love job”…that sounds like a blog post title that I’m now going to pitch to you to write! 🙂
