Ask us for our expert advice

We provide advice to organizations to help you make sound education-related decisions. This can involve carrying out research and analysis on your current programs and learning-related processes, interviewing staff and other stakeholders, and/or doing market, product or systems research. We focus on decisions related to pedagogy – how people teach and learn – and have applied that approach to a diverse range of projects. We also provide advice on educational technology, such as tools and platforms to support online learning or using technology to enhance in person learning.

Needs Assessment

The Canadian Red Cross wanted to adapt an existing face-to-face program that they conduct in Canadian high schools into online learning. They hired Beth to conduct a needs assessment with their stakeholders and make recommendations on the ideal audience (teachers or students or both) and what online learning mode would be most effective and desired for their purposes. Beth carried out key informant interviews, surveyed high school teachers in three provinces and wrote a report of recommendations on next steps.

“Everyone really appreciated the way Beth approached the project, enjoyed collaborating with her, and were very impressed with her professionalism and deliverables. I found her report to be very well structured. It presented the findings in a clear and concise manner. We now have a great basis to inform our next actions.”

– Nathan Huculak, Deputy Chief Communications Officer, Canadian Red Cross National Office –

Learning Management System (LMS) Review

Beth was hired by the BC SPCA to review their current learning management system (LMS) and provide recommendations to either keep or replace the system. She interviewed current staff about their current and desired future needs, reviewed and tested their system from the front and back ends (administrator and student views), performed web research on the LMS company, researched possible new systems and wrote a report detailing my findings and recommending next steps.

“We had the pleasure of working with Beth on a consulting project for our organization. This kind of activity can sometimes feel threatening to staff, however Beth’s process and approach made it a painless and extremely useful exercise. I would highly recommend Beth to any organization.”

– Gaynor Jackson, Former Executive Director, Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre –
