I haven’t mentioned yet here on this blog that I am busily preparing to teach the “Fundamentals of Event & Conference Management” through Camosun College at the end of this month. Registration is still open! This is going to be a great course for anyone wishing to learn more about putting on events and getting grounded in a lot of the basics. The image above is a “quick and dirty” overview of what the components of the course will cover.
The course will be held on Saturday April 28, and then all the Wednesday evenings between May 2 and June 6. If you know anyone who you think might want to take this course, please pass along this info to them!
There are some “absolutes” which I can promise in the delivery of this course. We’re going to:
- have fun
- learn a lot (you from me and me from you)
- hear from some great guest speakers
- go on a site visit to an event venue
- end the course with strong connections with a class full of people like you
I’ve been planning different types of events for my whole career and I’m pretty excited to share my enthusiasm about event planning with this class – whomever they may be!
Hi Beth
I attended a Strategic Planning Workshop earlier this year and was happy with the information. Do you have any one day event planning workshops coming up? I had thought I had read about one at UVic Continuing Studies later this fall, but was unable to find it online, should have written it down.
Thanks!
Lois
Hi Lois, thanks for commenting! I don’t have any one-day event planning courses coming up but I’m teaching the Camosun Fundamentals of Event & Conference Management course again starting at the end of January. Good luck in your search to find a course!
