These past few days I’ve been doing a lot of looking back and reflecting on my past year, business-wise. Normally I do this in December so this post is a little late, but it feels like a good way to start the new year as well. A little looking back in order to be able to look forward.

All said, 2018 was a great year. I don’t want to give a detailed laundry list here of all the projects I worked on, because I’ve written here and there about a few of them already throughout the year, but going back and reviewing my calendar and other documents now, I think…wow! A lot happened!

Generally speaking, I took on some new clients, particularly some small business folks that have been very wonderful to work with, and created some great e-learning and face-to-face courses for several large non-profits. I was able to lead educational sessions for business networking groups and at conferences. I had the opportunity to facilitate some meaningful group process facilitation sessions. I had teaching gigs aplenty – both online and in person – and engaged in some good professional development related to instructional design, teaching and learning. I worked on some interesting consulting projects. I expanded my network, read lots of books, listened to podcasts, reflected on “learning moments” (opportunities for improvement!) and even won a business award from my local Chamber of Commerce. I worked with subcontractors, a coach and a virtual assistant to support me in my business. I had coffee meetings, gave back to my community, and carved out a little time for self care here and there. I took some worthwhile holidays. 2018 was full and abundant and I am so thankful for the opportunities that came my way.

I’m now spending time looking forward to the year ahead and making plans for 2019. I feel refreshed and ready for new adventures! Wishing you a wonderful and productive year ahead.
