We create two main types of facilitation experiences for our clients: facilitated learning experiences and facilitated meetings. In our most recent post, we shared examples of custom workshops we’ve designed and facilitated to help groups build facilitation skills. In this post, we’re focusing on the other side of our work: custom meeting facilitation.
Every meeting we facilitate is custom-designed to fit the group, the purpose, and the decisions or conversations that need to happen. While these examples give a flavour of the kinds of processes we support, our facilitation work can take many forms. We specialize in helping non-profit, association, and government clients design thoughtful, inclusive group processes that help people think together, build clarity, and move important work forward.
Here are a few examples of recent facilitated meetings:
Leadership Retreat (one day | in person)
We facilitated a one-day offsite leadership retreat for a governmental organization focused on strengthening relationships, collaboration, and sustainable leadership practices. The day helped leaders reflect on burnout, stress, resilience, and psychological safety, as well as consider their work in alignment with the organization’s broader strategic direction.
Needs Assessment Scoping Process (one full day and two half-days | in person)
We facilitated a series of meetings for a large non-profit organization to help staff define the scope and priorities for an upcoming needs assessment and shape a future RFP for consulting support. Across one full-day session and two half-day sessions, we guided the group in building agreement on guiding principles, priority areas, who should be engaged, key data gaps, and the deliverables the future consultant should provide.
Branch Planning and Alignment Meeting (one day | in person)
We facilitated a one-day meeting for a provincial government branch designed to help staff strengthen relationships, build shared understanding of their work, and confirm a new branch mission. We guided a process that included connection-building, feedback on draft mission statements, discussion of branch priorities and ministry context, celebration of accomplishments, and reflection on how the group wanted to communicate and move forward together.
Industry Needs Assessment Process (series of meetings | virtual)
We facilitated a series of meetings for an organization in the tourism industry to help assess member needs and determine whether a workshop should be created. Across interviews, a virtual focus group, and follow-up planning conversations, we guided a process to identify learning priorities, validate the proposed direction, and develop recommendations for a future learning experience and supporting resources.
