Everyday Acts of Facilitation
Beth Cougler Blom, author of Design to Engage: How to Create and Facilitate a Great Learning Experience for Any Group, has published her second book. It’s called Everyday Acts of Facilitation: Learning to Facilitate Through Life’s Ordinary Moments.
This new book is about the small, everyday moments where facilitation shows up, sometimes without us even realizing it.
It’s written primarily for “accidental facilitators”—those of us who sort of fall into facilitation. We find ourselves leading workshops or meetings and think, “I love doing this kind of work. How can I learn more about it?” If that sounds familiar, this book is for you.
Yes, formal training in facilitation helps. But Everyday Acts of Facilitation will help you notice, reflect on, and strengthen the skills you’re already using in your life—skills that make you a better facilitator, whether you’re running a workshop or helping a group make decisions together.
