Yesterday through my work at Volunteer Victoria I organized and attended a session for the Emerging Leaders Network members to do The Passion Test. Our facilitator was Anna Harvey of Boost Communications.
Knowing Anna’s exuberant personality and engaging facilitation style and hearing the word “passion” in regards to a workshop was almost all I needed to know to book in this session! Any of you who have read through my website even a little bit will know that I am a big believer in finding your passions and following them. Well that’s what The Passion Test is all about…getting clear on what you’re passionate about for your life or a particular vision that you want to focus on.
It was the perfect kind of professional development morning for me!
Luckily, I am fairly clear on what I’m passionate about. But prioritizing them sometimes is the hard part. Taking The Passion Test helps with this! Through a very simple comparison process, determining the level of importance of what we’re interested in became quite easy. Through the test we strip away the “shoulds” that have been put upon us by others and get down to brass tacks about what it is that we ourselves really want do be doing with our life.
The Passion Test can help us get clear on:
- What am I doing in my ideal life?
- What am I doing in my ideal vision?
This session was a great reminder to make time for the things that I want to prioritize and place importance on in my life and work. Not surprising, “doing work that I love” was extremely high on the list! But I do have some work to do on a few other areas that I’m passionate about. Goal setting and “to do” listing comes next…
